phillip lam
Philip Lam is an experienced management
professional with more than 15 years of experience in
the technology industry. He has proven leadership experience
in new business development, enterprise systems development,
and product strategy earned while with market leading
firms including Scient, Art Technology Group, and Booz
Allen Hamilton.
Prior to Threshold, Mr. Lam served
as Vice President of Technology for hooloo.com, a leading
online retailer of books, music, and videos to the global
Chinese-speaking/reading market. In this capacity, he
oversaw all aspects of hooloo.com’s technology
initiatives and operations, managed the launch of two
new product lines for the company, and played a significant
role in operationally preparing the company for acquisition
by a major Taiwanese media conglomerate.
Previously, Mr. Lam was a Director
of the eMarkets Business Unit of Scient Corporation
(NASDAQ: SCNT), a leading provider of management consulting
and systems integration services. While in this role,
Mr. Lam co-led the establishment of the firm’s
New York City office and directed the company’s
east coast eMarkets business unit, developing the unit’s
first 3 clients with revenues exceeding $8 million.
Prior to Scient, Mr. Lam was the Director of Alliance
Partners at Art Technology Group (NASDAQ: ARTG), a market-leading
Internet products and services company. In this capacity,
he established and maintained partnership relationships
with more than 25 leading technology and systems integration
companies, including IBM, Borland, EDS, Cambridge Technology
Partners, Sapient, and others. Mr. Lam also served as
Director, Innovation Services for ATG, where he oversaw
the acquisition and execution of the company’s
most leading-edge client technology work, closely aligning
projects with the company’s new product development
efforts. Mr. Lam joined ATG as the fifteenth employee.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lam co-founded Any Channel,
Inc., an award-winning software development company
specializing in video game development and 3D technology,
and served as an information technology consultant at
Booz Allen & Hamilton and Andersen Consulting.
Mr. Lam is a frequent speaker and panelist
on Internet/e-commerce and international technology
issues, including presentations at The International
Network 2000 Conference – “The Internet
and Greater China”, LinkShare e-Tailing Conference
– “Aftermath of the Holiday Season”,
NY E-Dinner Seminar - "Personalization on the Web",
Boston Intranet Technology SIG "Intranets in Higher
Education", and NY Intranet Technology SIG "Online
Collaborative Environments.”
Mr. Lam received an MBA from New York
University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business
and a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research
& Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.
